FROM MY FAMILY TO YOURS... WISHING YOU A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

As I write to you this morning, I am just a few days away for being sworn in as your new State Representative for District 72 on January 1, 2019.  I wish to thank you for your support during the campaign. I am honored to have been elected to represent you. Please always feel free to contact me via email or phone. I will get back to you as soon as possible. I promise to be accessible and responsive. I will be sending regular emails to keep you informed on issues of importance going on at the state level. I will also be organizing public town hall style meetings several times a year. I will be continuing "Talks with Terri" (Coffee with your State Rep) dates are listed on my website and under my Facebook page under events. I will also be updating my constituent survey (access from the home page of my website) once the session starts. Your feedback is important to me.

PREPARING TO TAKE OFFICE

Since becoming your State Representative Elect, I've been extremely busy transitioning from Portsmouth School Committee Chair to your D72 State Rep by attending multiple trainings for elected legislators starting with RI House of Representative orientation at the RI State House. In early December I traveled to Washington D.C. to the Annual SiX State Legislator Conference in which I attended with legislators from all 50 states, including several from RI, who gathered to network, learn from national policy experts and organizational leaders, strategize, and exchange policy ideas and best practices. While in D.C. I also attended the Women Legislators' Lobby (WiLL) Communications Training(WiLL) for a robust communications training which included interpersonal communications, Twitter, and lobbying your fellow General Assembly members as an elected official.
